This legislation appropriates to the Department of Public Safety $192,900 one-time from the Department of Public Safety Restricted Account in FY 2027 to update driver license processing to include the new certification outlined in this bill. Of that, $152,900 would be to upgrade the physical driver license design, and $40,000 would be paid to the Division of Technology Services to upgrade the driver license processing software. The $40,000 would then be spent as one-time dedicated credits revenue by the Division of Technology Services.
