Enactment of this legislation appropriates $5,000,000 one-time General Fund to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for costs incurred related to litigation concerning the state's interests in water. This legislation could also cost DNR $500 ongoing from the General Fund beginning in FY 2027 from adding an additional member to the Board of the Utah Geological Survey.
