Enactment of this bill could result in ongoing General Fund revenue of $59,300 from the assessment of fines and criminal surcharge fees beginning in FY 2027. This could also result in a $1,200 ongoing revenue increase to the Court Security Account beginning in FY 2027.

Enactment of this legislation could increase personnel costs to Courts by $33,000 ongoing beginning in FY 2027 and $37,500 one-time in FY 2026 from the General Fund for case processing costs and to update court systems to reflect new surcharge levels. Enactment of this legislation could also cost the Department of Health and Human Services $1,900 one-time in FY 2026 from the General Fund for costs related to updating Licensing and Background check systems to comply with the law. $1,500 of these costs can be absorbed within existing budgets.

Local government entities could experience the following estimated expenditure impacts beginning in FY 2027: 1. Prosecutors - $23,200 increase.
Individuals cited for violations contained in this legislation could pay between $1,500 to $2,500 per case for an aggregated cost of $60,500 in fines and surcharge fees beginning in FY 2027.
