Enactment of this legislation could decrease Dedicated Credits Revenue to the Department of Public Safety and decrease revenue to the Department of Public Safety Restricted Account by an estimated -$44,600 and -$165,300, respectively, in FY 2026 and -$267,500 and -$992,000, respectively, beginning in FY 2027 resulting from decreases in fingerprinting and application and renewal fees related to driving privilege cards.

Enactment of this legislation could cost the Department of Public Safety an estimated $3,100 one-time from the Department of Public Safety Restricted Account in FY 2026 for programming changes. Enactment of this legislation could also decrease costs to the Department of Public Safety by an estimated -$44,600 one-time in FY 2026 and -$267,500 ongoing starting in FY 2027 from Dedicated Credits Revenue resulting from fewer fingerprinting services provided, and by an estimated -$165,300 one-time in FY 2026 and -$992,000 ongoing starting in FY 2027 from the Department of Public Safety Restricted Account resulting from the elimination of the driving privilege card program.
