Enactment of this legislation could increase expenditures for local law enforcement agencies to meet license plate reader requirements. Costs will vary depending on the the number of officers that must be trained and the quantity of records to audit, with an estimated range of $40 to $150 per officer and $100 to $2,000 per audit.
